Wallets & privacy

What connecting a wallet does, and what it never does.

Connecting a wallet lets BugCrawl read your public address and current network. It is used to highlight contracts you deployed, filter the explorer by your address and start the trail map from your account.

  • BugCrawl never asks for a seed phrase or private key.
  • It never switches your network without you approving it in your wallet.
  • The current release requests no signatures and sends no transactions.
  • When you submit a verification while connected, your public address is attached to the request record.

Supported: browser wallets that announce themselves (EIP-6963, e.g. MetaMask, Rabby, Coinbase Wallet extension), any injected EVM provider, and mobile wallets through WalletConnect when the operator sets NEXT_PUBLIC_WALLETCONNECT_PROJECT_ID.
